The Classical Academy plans field trips and several times each year for students and their families to attend. These field trips align with classroom learning in history or science. Field trip opportunities might include the opera, ballet, a visit to a museum, the zoo, or another educational excursion. All school field trips are designed to be family-friendly, meaning the entire family is welcome to attend unless otherwise stated. One of the field trips is large on-campus experience in which the campus is transformed into a historical era, and students are invited to explore the food, music, art, culture, and dress of that era. Past field trips have included: Greek Day, Asian Dynasty Day, Colonial Day, and Native American Day. Off campus field trips, such as Legoland, SeaWorld, The San Diego Zoo, BIZ Town, museums, and missions, align with unit studies. Parents are responsible for their children at all school field trips and events.
Students in grades 4-8 have the opportunity to take educational and enriching overnight class trips, including Sacramento/San Francisco, Pathfinders Camp, Astrocamp, Catalina Island, and the East Coast.
The Classical Academy annually hosts Super STEM Saturday, a science event that encourages students to get hands on experience and learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This year’s STEM event will be held in March at California State University San Marcos.
