There are three program options for students at The Classical Academy TK-8:
“A Track” students meet Tuesdays/Thursdays on campus from 8:00am – 2:30pm in “workshop”. There is a 20/1 student teacher ratio and students are taught language arts, math, science, PE and music. Traditional recess and lunch breaks are given. On Monday/Wednesday/Friday, students work independently at home to complete assignments in language arts, math and history with a supervising adult. Students are required to follow The Classical Academy’s curriculum and to participate in scheduled parent/teacher conferences at the conclusion of each Unit to assess student work and learning.
“B Track” is identical to “A Track”, however students attend school workshops on Wednesdays and Fridays. Students in A and B Tracks must participate in scheduled parent–teacher conferences every Unit to assess student work.
The “C Track” program option provides the most flexibility with curriculum selection. Students work at home five days per week with the option of enrolling in up to six C’lective classes. Students are accountable to an Educational Specialist (ES), who is a credentialed teacher. Parents maintain weekly communication with their ES via email, phone calls or in person. Scheduled parent/teacher conferences are required every Unit to assess student work and learning.
“C’Lectives” are supplemental workshops exclusively for students enrolled in C Track. A variety of educational classes are offered on campus. Classes such as science, literature, history, PE, writing, and more are available to C Track students. These classes are meant to supplement home assignments.
