Varsity Dancers Serving Students

Varsity dancers Alyssa Williamson, Brooke Roberts, and Haley Haman are Classical Academy High School Varsity students who volunteered hundreds of hours choreographing the production of Aristocats for the elementary and middle school campuses. These girls spent countless days and weeks choreographing, rehearsing, creating practice videos, and training students during tech week. They are excellent role models, sharing their love of dance with passion and commitment.

The Classical Academy Presents Seussical the Musical Jr.

See some of your favorite childhood stories come to life on stage in the fun-filled production of Seussical the Musical, Jr. Horton Hears a Who, Horton Sits on an Egg, Gertrude McFuzz, Cat in the Hat are just some of the fanciful tales Dr. Suess brought to life. Enjoy non-stop entertainment filled with singing and dancing, colorful costumes, sets, and props. Performances will be held at the Ritz Theater from March 17-20, 2022.

Save the Date! Super STEM Saturday Science Festival Returns!

Discover science, re-imagine technology, create engineering, and explore math! Super STEM Saturday is a free educational science festival for children of all ages! Join us for hands-on experiments, live demonstrations, and exhibits that will ignite your curiosity and deepen your love for STEM. In partnership with The Classical Academies and California State University San Marcos (CSUSM), Super STEM Saturday will be held on March 12, 2022, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at CSUSM. CAHS Students’ Robotics Team, RoboctoPI, Sets World Record!

CAHS seniors Lauren Chiang, Caleb Dela Cruz, Alexander Usher, and sophomores Seth Peace, Nicholas Usher, and Caleb Winter led their FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team, RoboctoPI, to a World Record-setting score at the San Diego League Championship Tournament. Their team’s score of 361 points is the highest total posted this season by over 6,200 active teams after more than 25,000 matches that have been played around the world. Team Roboctopi will be competing again at the San Diego FTC Regional Finals on March 26, 2022, at Francis Parker High School.

Student Awarded Eagle Scout Award

Classical Academy High School (CAHS) junior, Tom Weston, earned the Boy Scouts of America’s Eagle Scout Award, which is the highest advancement. Weston is approximately 6% of all Boy Scouts who attain the Eagle rank. Each candidate must earn 21 merit badges and complete a community-related service project to earn the Eagle. Weston was recognized at a ceremony attended by community leaders representing Boy Scout Troop 649 and its sponsor, the Escondido Rotary Club. Escondido Mayor Paul McNamara, also an Eagle Scout, participated in the ceremony and presented Weston with a certificate from the City of Escondido. In addition to attending CAHS and participating in Scouts, Weston is also a nationally ranked fencer and part of the CAHS Robotics Club.

Finding Success With Into Math Curriculum

Most of us grew up learning math by repetition and regurgitation. The new Into Math Curriculum teaches students to think critically, problem-solve, make connections, and communicate their reasoning. The Classical Academies Math Coordinator, Andrew Shields, shares how the transition to the new math program can help our students achieve 21st-century skills and provides guidance and direction for additional teaching resources.
