The majority of courses are considered “accelerated” in which a year’s worth of content is covered in 18 weeks. Yearlong courses (which meet for a full 36 weeks) include all levels of math, advanced placement courses, physical education courses, and some of electives.
Program Options
Classical Academy partners with parents to prepare students for “College, Career, and Citizenship.” Students have the flexibility to choose a program that best fits their learning style.
Classical Academy High School – Studio Campus
4 days on campus
The Studio Program is designed to serve students who would like to attend class in a traditional classroom setting four days per week (Tuesday – Friday) in an accelerated classroom environment. Studio teachers use lectures, small group interactions, labs, field trips, and projects to deliver an engaging and rigorous curriculum. Students in this program agree to exhibit respectful conduct and academic responsibility, including the timely completion of quality work and daily attendance. All core classes except for math and Advanced Placement (AP) are taught in an accelerated format of 18 weeks.
Classical Academy High School – Online Campus
3-day workshops – Full Online – 5-Day Independent Study
Classical Academy High School Online Campus will offer multiple personalized learning options for students: 1) 3-day workshops on campus for up to five classes 2) Full Online 3) 5-Day Independent Study. Classical Academy Online will follow a traditional high school schedule with core classes spread out over two semesters (36 weeks). As space allows, students may mix and match which classes they prefer to take on campus and which they’d like to take fully online. A rigorous, engaging environment will be maintained in the classroom via intentional student collaboration time, projects/labs and student mentorship. Online students will utilize the Summit Learning Platform and will have increased flexibility to complete their schoolwork at home. The 5-Day Independent Study Program provides additional flexibility for students and families. Families may choose from several options, including selecting their own curriculum, selecting online courses, working with outside co-ops or vendors, and/or taking community college courses. All students will have direct access to subject-area credentialed teachers during workshops and office hours. All Advanced Placement (AP) require the three-day workshop.
