Super STEM Saturday Cancelled in Response Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)
The situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) is rapidly evolving. Local, national, and global public health recommendations are shifting to include mitigation of transmission, including cancellation of large, public events. Because of public health concerns, the Super STEM Saturday Science Festival is cancelled.
Super STEM Saturday is an annual event hosted in partnership with California State University San Marcos (CSUSM). This past year, the event welcomed 18,000 attendees to the campus of CSUSM to discover science, re-imagine technology, create engineering, and explore math.
With 112 hands on, interactive demonstrations, students build and launch rockets, play Frisbee with robots, and explore binary coding, to name a few. This is a free event and open to the public. Children of all ages are invited to attend. Super STEM Saturday closes the ten-day science festival, the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering, the largest celebration of innovation and science education in Southern California.
