Classical Academy Vista plans field trips several times a year for students and their families to attend. These field trips align with classroom learning in history or science. Field trip opportunities might include the opera, a visit to a museum or theme park, the zoo, or another educational excursion. All school field trips are designed to be family-friendly, meaning the entire family is welcome to attend unless otherwise stated. Parents are responsible for their children on all field trips.
Each March, The Classical Academies annually hosts Super STEM Saturday, a full-day of hands-on activities in the areas of science, technology, and engineering, and math. The event encourages students to explore stem education and careers. For more information, visit https://classicalacademy.com/communityengagement/superstemsaturday/
Students in grades 4-8 have the opportunity to participate in educational and enriching overnight class trips. Trips include Sacramento/San Francisco, Pathfinder Camp, Astrocamp, Catalina Island, and the East Coast.
Visual & Performing Arts
Art – Students in grades 3-8 study various artists, art history, and art movements, while incorporating elements and principles of design. Projects are aligned with California State Visual Arts Standards and provide students with a well-rounded and thorough experience in the visual arts.
Music is provided for students in grades K-8. Students explore vocals, a variety of instruments, fun rhythmic expressions, and even composition.
Classical Academy is well known for its dynamic musical theatre program. A full-scale junior stage production is produced each spring on a professional stage. Students in grades 4-8 grace the stage with their best acting, singing and dancing in costume and makeup. Musical Theatre is an extra-curricular program. Past productions have included Aladdin, Annie, and The Little Mermaid Jr.
