CAH provides a rich variety of activities in which students can connect with each other and the community. Activities include sports, clubs, cheer, Mock Trial, journalism (yearbook and news publications), school dances, and a variety of ASB-sponsored events. The student culture at CAH is remarkably accepting, nurturing, and wholesome, and all school events are designed to help students engage with each other in safe and supervised environments. All students are encouraged to give back to their communities and are required to complete 37.5 community service hours each year that they are enrolled at CAH.
Visual & Performing Arts
CAH believes the visual and performing arts possess inherent value essential in the creation of well-rounded students with a complete education. We believe students should be given the opportunity to think like artists, just as they should also be given the opportunity to approach the world mathematically, scientifically, historically, and linguistically. Studying the arts enables students to connect to content in new ways and gain a greater understanding of oneself and others. The arts encourage and enable students to reflect on quality, celebrate multiple perspectives, solve a problem with multiple solutions, and ‘say’ what cannot be said with words alone. CAH instruction follows the CA State Standards for artistic perception, creative expression, historical and cultural context, aesthetic valuing, and connections/applications, as well as the Common Core Standards for reading, writing, speaking, and listening. CAH VAPA courses provide students with an academically enriching and rigorous study of the arts. While many students participate on one of the VAPA clubs or teams, many also take one or more VAPA classes before they graduate.
The Associated Student Body (ASB) is the student-led leadership team whose primary responsibility is to promote school spirit, develop leadership skills, and provide relevant school activities. ASB sponsors a variety of events throughout the year that provide the opportunity for students to participate while developing social skills and healthy relationships. ASB-sponsored events include, spirit days, dances, and many community service projects.
Juniors and seniors may also apply to LINK CREW a group of upperclassmen dedicated to mentoring and supporting incoming freshmen during their first year of high school.
The associated student body organizes and approves clubs which allow students to meet and gather around a particular interest with a faculty advisor. CAH typically has 10 or more clubs meeting throughout the year on various days of the week. Examples of 2017-2018 clubs included Art Club, Bible Club, Robotics Club, Entrepreneurial Club & GSA.

CAH offers a dynamic, engaging and exciting yearbooks program. The yearbook team, a student-run and student-led team, produces two publication including a newspaper and annual yearbook. Our team of photographers, reporters and designers work year round to capture the stories that affect our students and community. We help create a voice for all students at CAH. If you have a passion for great storytelling, both visually and traditionally, consider joining our team and serving your student body in a critical role as a student journalist.
