Classical Academy Online Receives National Recognition

Classical Academy Online (CAO) received national recognition
from The Learning Counsel.  Making the transition from traditional curriculum and content materials to those in digital form is a complex undertaking. This takes work, vision, and leadership. The Learning Counsel has recognized Classical Academy Online for their effort to transition to and utilize digital curriculum and content in the teaching and learning process.Members of the team gathered in Houston, Texas to receive the 2018 Digital Curriculum Strategy Award.

CAHS Student Receives PrestigiousAdmiral’s Award

Classical Academy High School student, Diego Preciado, was honored with the prestigious Admiral’s Award at the Prep Pigskin Report Gala. He was awarded for his accomplishments on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. CAHS Students Win 2018 Damus Hollywood Invitational Debate Tournament

Classical Academy High School’s two-person policy debate team, Madeleine Tseng and Raj Pabari, emerged as novice policy champions in the annual debate tournament held at Notre Dame High School in November. In addition to team awards at the tournament, individual speaker awards went to Tseng who placed fifth and Pabari who placed sixth in overall individual ratings.

High school policy debate is a nationally competitive activity in which
teams debate a single topic throughout the academic year. This year’s
topic is “Resolved: The United States federal government should
substantially reduce its restrictions on legal immigration to the United
States.”

The Classical Academies 2018 Year End Give Campaign Underway

On Giving Tuesday The Classical Academies launched the annual Year End Giving Campaign, #CommitToClassical. The campaign will continue through the month of December and will directly benefit students in the areas of academics, clubs, music, theater, and more.

The campaign has an overall goal of raising $50K with 300 donations.#CommitToClassical and make a difference in the lives of students. Click HERE to view our campaign page.

Young Entrepreneurs Club

CAHS students started the Young Entrepreneurs Club this year to support students interested in starting a business.

“We all come together and learn about different topics like the stock market, investment, how to start a business [and] different business aspects,” said sophomore and Vice President, Delaware Wade.

CAHS Teacher Recognized as NBC Inspirational Teacher of the Month

Woodshop Teacher Morgan Lundy was recognized as Teacher of the Month by NBC’s Rory Devine.  Lundy is passionate about teaching students life lessons such as self-worth, value, and overcoming personal challenges. Annually, his students create beautiful wood pieces to benefit disabled residents at Mountain Shadows Community Homes. For the complete video click HERE.
