Classical Academy High School Alumnus Andrew Seelhoff has been busy pursuing an undergraduate degree at MIT, applying for grad school, and working to provide prosthetic and diabetic care to marginalized communities around the world.
Seelhoff’s work involves designing vehicles that will function as mobile clinics, where patients can be evaluated and fitted for a low-cost custom-made prosthetic. Because many of the world’s amputees lost limbs due to uncontrolled blood glucose levels, mobile clinics will also offer diabetes care. The first trial run is expected to take place next year in the West African nation of Sierra Leone. Read the complete article here.
