Classical Academy High School (CAHS) Personalized Learning Campus offers Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) “drone” piloting courses to teach high schoolers how to legally fly UAS. These articulated courses offer students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit with Palomar College. “I am pleased we can offer students the opportunity to learn more about this technology,” stated CAHS Principal Stacey Perez, “The partnership with Palomar College continues to benefit students and expand their opportunities.” Course instructor, Vicki Mazur, received a $1,200 grant for CAHS to become a member of the Radio Technical Committee for Aeronautics (RTCA) and stay up-to-date with the aviation industry and standards while providing feedback on how students are using remotely piloted aircraft in their daily lives.
