Coastal Academy Charter Renewed By Oceanside Unified

The Oceanside Unified School District (OUSD) Board of Trustees renewed the charter for Coastal Academy (TK-12th Grade) for 5 more years on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.  As part of the state mandated renewal process, all charter schools go through a review every 5 years and a local Board votes to deny or approve them.  The OUSD Board gave us a 3/2 vote of approval and we are pleased to maintain a majority support with the Board of Trustees.

“Tuesday nights vote keeps the programming moving forward and we value the time with the Trustees where we could detail our schools and their success.” stated Cameron Curry, Executive Director.  “We continue our focus on the only reason we have jobs; to make great things happen for students every single day!”

Coastal Academy opened in 2003 as a Kindergarten through 8th grade program, and in 2017, with the permission of Oceanside Unified, the charter was modified to add grades 9-12.  In January 2018, Coastal Academy High was granted accreditation from the Western Accreditation of Schools and Colleges.
