Students from Coastal Academy participated in a mock trial at the San Diego Superior Court in February. More than 600 students from 32 county high schools fielded teams which assume roles of lawyers, witnesses and other courtroom personnel in arguing a fictitious case. More than 50 lawyers, judges, and court staff donated their time to help with the program, with a goal of increasing civics education. The complete article can be viewed here.
