Robotics Team Representing SoCal in International Tournament

Team MC² won the FIRST Lego League Challenge regional competition, a North County homeschool robotics team. Classical Academy students Chloe Raya, Jillian Smith, Bryce McCague, Eric McCague, and Konrad Sleipness tackled solving a cargo issue by creating an operational robotics system prototype to reduce plastic waste and dumping. Team MC² was awarded Overall SoCal Tournament Champion and will be competing at the Razorback Open Invitational, an international competition held at the University of Arkansas, May 19-22, 2022. Organizers expect attendance of more than 80 teams representing STEM students from throughout North America, South America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. First Lego League California Southern encompasses counties from San Diego to San Luis Obispo and presents teams with four challenges: Innovation Project, Robot Performance Game, Robot Design, and Core Values.
