Student Awarded Eagle Scout Award

September 2, 2022

Classical Academy High School (CAHS) junior, Tom Weston, earned the Boy Scouts of America’s Eagle Scout Award, which is the highest advancement. Weston is approximately 6% of all Boy Scouts who attain the Eagle rank. Each candidate must earn 21 merit badges and complete a community-related service project to earn the Eagle. Weston was recognized at a ceremony attended by community leaders representing Boy Scout Troop 649 and its sponsor, the Escondido Rotary Club. Escondido Mayor Paul McNamara, also an Eagle Scout, participated in the ceremony and presented Weston with a certificate from the City of Escondido. In addition to attending CAHS and participating in Scouts, Weston is also a nationally ranked fencer and part of the CAHS Robotics Club.
