Classical Academy High School Flag Football Team Continues to Set Records

Classical Academy High School's (CAHS) flag football team has achieved significant recognition, with two standout players earning top honors in the All-CIF selections. Justine Batcheller was named the Offensive Player of the Year with 114 pass receptions for 1,583 yards and 34 touchdowns. The Caimans won their second straight San Diego Section Division 1 championship with a 42-20 win over Torrey Pines. Mary Hayes was named the Defensive Player of the Year with 43 flags pulled and 16 interceptions. Daniel Salas was named the Coach of the Year. "I am incredibly proud of this team, their hard work, focus, and dedication to one another," stated CAHS Principal Dana Moen, "It is impressive what can be achieved when players and coaches put the team above the individual." The Caiman's achievements underscore the growing prominence of girls' flag football in San Diego County, with CAHS in the lead.
