The fight for equitable student funding continues as The Classical Academies and other co-plaintiffs have filed a notice of appeal of the trial court’s decision in the class-action lawsuit Reyes v. the State of California. An appeal affords another opportunity to compel the State and Governor to recognize the fundamental obligation to fund every student enrolled at public charter schools. It also allows us to continue the fight on behalf of the almost 300 non-classroom-based charter schools serving nearly 200,000 students affected by the State’s actions.
