Health Services

The Classical Academies employs a credentialed registered nurse who oversees each school site's Health Office. Each campus has a Health Technician or other Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) available in the front office during school hours to help care for students. The School Nurse can help with the following.

• Student Healthcare Plans: Health conditions that affect a student's ability to participate in school may require an Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP). These conditions may include Allergies, Asthma, Diabetes, Seizures, Celiac Disease, bowel and bladder problems, Immunodeficiency, tube feeding, Migraines, and Brain Injury. • Hearing and Vision Screenings: Hearing and Vision Screenings are performed annually for Kindergarten, 2nd, 5th, and 8th grade students. Students in 10th grade are screened for hearing only. Students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) must have an up-to-date hearing and vision screening within one year of their initial and triennial IEP meetings. Parents may schedule an IEP hearing and vision screening with the school nurse here. Parents may also schedule an appointment with a Primary Care Provider and provide the school nurse with the results.
• Immunizations: Immunizations are a requirement to attend school in California.
